It more likely is in the FreeBSD driver to deal with 64-bit PCI. It also may be a problem between SYM and other SCSI drivers as you indicated you only had SYM driver in the kernel. The ASUS P2B I used acturally is P2B-LS, which has an Adaptic SCSI controller on board. Even after I took 390U3W out, FreeBSD 4.6 still cannot be installed on this motherboard. It loops forever after probe SCSI -- Waiting 6 seconds for SCSI devices to settle kernel spits something related to "aic" controller again and again. I will remove all other SCSI drivers from the kerenl and try again.
