--+SfteS7bOf3dGlBC Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello, I have uploaded packages for FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE at packager@master.kde.org:~/2.1/FreeBSD/. This includes the following: kdesupport kdelibs, kdebase, kdegames, kdenetwork, kdetoys, kdeutils,=20 kdegraphics, and kdemultimedia. Qt 2.2.4 is also uploaded as a reference only. The compile machine was running 4.2-STABLE as of Friday February 23, 2001. [ for ports@FreeBSD.org: above packages will be available from ftp.kde.org (and mirrors) on Monday. ] Notes on these packages: 1) Tested only on XFree86 4.0.2 (which has threads enabled). People using 3.3.6 or older are probably out of luck and need to compile it themselves. People using 4.0.1 may also be out of luck due to threads issues. I haven't been able to sufficiently test this except on my own system. 2) Some multimedia apps (notably noatun) don't seem to work quite right yet. *sigh* :-( 3) While adding the packages, it is strongly advised to use the -f option since the package tools aren't smart enough yet to detect "sufficient" dependencies. That is if your machine already has X4.0.2 of some variation as well as QT >=3D 2.2.3. 4) For the paranoid, there is a packages.md5 file which will verify (to an extent) whether the packages are the same as they were when they left my machine. For the *really* paranoid (and those that have GnuPG :), there are also *.sig files for each package, signed with the same key that this email is. 5) (Followup to #1:) People who can't seem to get the packages I rolled to work and don't want to build KDE 2.1 from source (via ports, which I will update on Monday as soon as the release announcement is out) can wait between 5 and 10 days before packages for X3.3.6 & 4.2-STABLE/5.0-CURRENT are built by the automatic packaging system used by the FreeBSD Project. Other than that, my initial QA testing (4 hours of playing around and such) indicates that this is the best release ever rolled for FreeBSD & KDE2. Cheers! :-) --=20 wca --+SfteS7bOf3dGlBC Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.3 (FreeBSD) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE6mRl+F47idPgWcsURAswuAJ9AzeINTk0U0fexGw4cKT/3o90lswCfSYpa Y5lZdn+qcVJ4yLyxAs7IweE= =Dcts -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --+SfteS7bOf3dGlBC-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
