I'm trying to install FreeBSD on an AlphaServer 300 4/266, booting from floppy, it has failed several times, I have tried several floppy disks, I also have just updated the firmware to the latest but still no luck! From console (>>> ) I enter "boot dva0" it does a few things, then crashes at: Loading /boot/loader - halt CPU 0 halt code = 2 kernel stack not valid halt PC = 0 boot failure I have installed NetBSD but would prefer FreeBSD! NetBSD installed without much trouble! What is wrong, PLEASE HELP! Thanks To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
