Without access to /dev/MAKEDEV I used mknod: mknod <filename> <type> <major> <minor> mknod /dev/ad0 c 116 0x00010002 mknod /dev/ad0s1a c 116 0x00020000 mknod /dev/ad0s1b c 116 0x00020001 ... mknod /dev/ad0s1h c 116 0x00020007 mknod /dev/ad0s4 c 116 0x00050002 mknod /dev/ad0s4a c 116 0x00050000 ... mknod /dev/ad0s4h c 116 0x00050007 Obviously you need to have kept a not of the major & minor numbers for your particular device (ad0 in this case). I am not sure if this is the correct procedure, but it worked. Jeff To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
