Yep - that's what is happening.  So which end is yours?  You can check
what the smtp server is offering by logging in with EHLO and then
checking the response.  You have to specify on the server what AUTH
schemes you want to enable.

Can anybody help with an idea as to what is wrong here?
If I read it right, one mail server is saying yes we do AUTH using LOGIN
etc......, the other is saying can I login with CRAM-MD5, sending
user/pass
and then receiving "Get Lost, I don't understand"
