I quit using MS software because their z80 assembler was garbage. I've still got a copy of the reviews of the first MS BASIC interpreter (in storage, unfortunately). While it didn't suck, I'd be hard pressed to say that the review called it "good software." If MS ever wrote good software, I never encountered it. For a while, they purchased language processors from other companies and sold those.
