textproc/hunspell it is, thanks, I didn't know about that one. I tried aspell and that didn't work so I posted. Why is it hunspell? Is that some default on FreeBSD? I see stuff like LibreOffice and FireFox depend on it. I tried to browse the gtkspell source on but couldn't find any reference to a preferred dictionary set.
