A couple of years ago to get an adaptec 3940 with the PCI-to-PCI bridge to
work, one had to hack around in the code and customize a table entry or
two, as described in:

*WARNING* enough may have changed in the SMP implementation since the
article was written, so it may not accurately reflect the status quo any
longer.
