Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I am unable to install 2.2.2 on a new computer I just got. After it failed the first time with "Unable to make device node for /dev/X in /dev!" I tried researching the FAQ and Handbook. Found some info regarding Geometry. I am using a 2G SCSI HD. The default Geometry that shows up is 256/255/63. I tried reading the geometry with pfdisk, but that returns a different number depending on whether I run it from OS/2 or Dos. The numbers I got from pfdisk were 512/255/63 and 512/63/63. >From the docs I read that if the controller has support for >1G enable to use a formula. I did and got 256/63/255 (2008MB/7.844238 and the 63 and 255 as suggested). I also would like to know how one can take out easy boot easily. I tried it once just to see how it worked and can't figure out how to take it out easily. I use OS/2's boot manager and it took me a lot of trial and error to get that to replace easy boot.
