I setup a RAID 1 array in the BIOS of the Promise PDC20319 controller and I boot on the RAID array: "Hard Disk Drives:[FT TX Ary 1]". FreeBSD 5.3 supports perfectly this controller in view of the atacontrol commands and all seem ok: # atacontrol list ATA channel 0: Master: acd0 ATA/ATAPI revision 4 Slave: no device present ATA channel 1: Master: no device present Slave: no device present ATA channel 2: Master: no device present Slave: no device present ATA channel 3: Master: ad6 Slave: no device present ATA channel 4: Master: no device present Slave: no device present ATA channel 5: Master: ad10 Slave: no device present # atacontrol status ar0 ar0: ATA RAID1 subdisks: ad6 ad10 status: READY # I have a question: How to do to check the RAID 1 is operational without all to break? Is there tools to check? Here the ships of my board: Thank in anticipation, claude -- Clé publique: http://pgp.mit.edu
