While I currently don't have a system to test it I'd assume the same to be true for FreeBSD 11.2. Since various big video portals, such as YouTube are starting to offer videos with this encoding and because official Firefox builds have been starting to come with AV1 enabled by default it might be worthwhile to add an option for it as well. However, maybe one should try against FreeBSD 11.2 first, and if necessary disable it for builds on FreeBSD 11, if it really causes problems.
