Looks like you're getting the equivalent of this tcsh error:
sjk@halo> setenv PATH $PATH:/
Bad : modifier in $ (/).
Put {}'s around the envariable name (e.g. ${PATH}) to fix that, but `amdump'
is a bourne shell script so make sure it's being executed as such.
