EGCS has much better C++ support, so I would build everything with Qt or KDE using EGCS. It is bound to be faster. This is very much like the problems with differing versions of the C library that Linux is having right now. I don't suppose there is a way for the port to check which library Qt is linked against and then to use the appropriate compiler (i.e. use sed, awk or perl?).
