I know my Elsa Erazor III Pro (TNT2) does not like sharing its IRQ at all. Newer cards shouldn't have any problems with it. If you can't assign a different IRQ to the PCI slot your sound card is plugged into via your BIOS setup, moving the card to a different slot should help - at least as long as there are enough free slots/IRQs.
