My system works like a charm with AGP 8x (from /var/log/Xorg.0.log): X Window System Version 6.9.0 Release Date: 21 December 2005 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.9 Build Operating System: FreeBSD 6.0 amd64 [ELF]=20 Current Operating System: FreeBSD slackbox.xs4all.nl 6.1-STABLE FreeBSD 6.1= -STAB LE #0: Tue May 9 22:46:51 CEST 2006 rsmith@slackbox.xs4all.nl:/usr/obj= /usr/ src/sys/RFS amd64 <snip> (--) Chipset ATI Radeon 9200PRO 5960 (AGP) found <snip> (**) RADEON(0): AGP 8x mode is configured (II) RADEON(0): AGP Fast Write disabled by default I use startx, not gdm, in case that matters. Maybe you should look into the radeon kernel driver. There used to be some 32-bitness issues here and there, but I thought they were all fixed before 6.0. Maybe there have been some new bugs introduced in CURRENT?
