I was at LISA 2000 at the Kerberos SIG session. After the session, speaking= to Paul Hill, Project Athena (MIT KRB5) team lead, he was lamenting the fact t= hat M$ had imported MIT into A/D and was not only importing it but had added fi= elds to the MIT KRB5 protocol which MIT was opposed to adding. He was not oppose= d to them using the code but he was opposed to them changing the protocol to sup= port M$ goals. Since M$ was such a big player and so powerful at the time they h= ad no choice but to support M$'s extensions.
