There are some tests you can try out. Use mplayer to play mp3s and force the output to 48khz There are problems with USB audio. Could you try http://www.cnd.mcgill.ca/~mat/uaudio-netbsd177.diff.bz2 Something that I was working on a couple of weeks ago. You should sysctl hw.usb.uadion.delay=0 You'll loose the mixer but it should report the speed a little better and I think they (netbsd) improved the packet size calculation.
