I committed this change on the 25th (but failed to note your explicit approval). As a bit of background, FreeBSD 9.3 has GCC 4.2 in the base and this is the last version of GCC to be included in base. Anything newer (such as GCC 4.8 or later) has to come from ports anyway. Gerald
