Some time ago I reported I/O problems in FreeBSD when having time-consuming processes (like seti@home or rc5des) in the background. I had experienced these problems since I installed freebsd 9 months ago (I made world frequently in between). After making and installing a new world some days ago, these problems were gone! Now it doesn't matter whether there's anything running in the background or not. Good job! :-) What has been changed? :) Ciao, Thomas.
