OpenOffice 1.1 for Linux runs *very* well on FreeBSD 4.8 with
linux_base-7, though it wouldn't work for me on 4.6.2 ...

Install linux_base-7 and see how it goes. OOo 1.1 works, so there's
no reason SO 7 shouldn't.
