I've been trying to rdump a Netapp to a FreeBSD box with an exabyte changer with intermittant luck. The FreeBSD box and netapp are connected by a 3c595 running at 100BASE-TX or 10BASET speeds (tried both). Tried them in both auto mode and fixed mode. The netapp's card is tulip based. I'm running a crossover cable. Could this be related to the card or cable? The netapp seems to hang while dumping the file system. Killing the FreeBSD process causes the netapp to report a write error and a botched rmt protocol. Running rdump on the netapp to the FreeBSD box with the same parameters works. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Is this a possible rsh problem? I just built the /usr/sbin/rmt from 3.0-CURRENT to give it a try.
