Subject:   XFree86 archives problem

     I have been having problems extracting XFree86 archives from 
     ftp.XFreeBSD.org. When I do a tar xzfv X329TGU.tgz I get the 
     following error
     
     gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--crc error
     tar: archive X329TGU.tgz EOF not on block boundary
     
     Yes I'm using binary mode.  This has happened to me on almost 
     all archives.  I'm running 2.1.5 and trying to install 
     X 3.2...
