... several messages ago have mentioned the buildkernel has a bug that
crept in during the past few days... something to do with stale
dependencies... I just had a similar problem (October update worked fine)
tonight. This fixed mine

#rm -rf /usr/obj/usr

Then recompile the kernel... should be fine.
