Please give the port update as a I committed it yesterday a try.

It contains to hack to work around this issue, and some real improvements
(alas for FreeBSD, which means going forward FreeBSD 7.0 probably will be
the minimum version required to reasonably run Wine) have been made or are
in the queue by Tijl Coosemans, with support from Marc G. Fournier and
others and others.
