I'm newly arrived from the MS world and when I'm trying to install FreeBSD 4.9 onto a stock NEC 
9701SE, I'm receiving the following error message:

syncing disks, buffers remaining   75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75 75
giving up on 30 buffers

Uptime: 16s

Automatic reboot in 15 seconds


Does anyone have an idea on why I am receiving this message?
