You may want to set the kernel variable hw.snd.pcm0.vchans to 0 and
tune other hw.snd.* variables with sysctl(8).

In the future you may want to include more details (like the output
of `cat /dev/sndstat`) and consider posting to a more appropriate
list (such as freebsd-questions) first.
