This is what I did (which other people contributed
the bits and pieces of):
/etc/printcap
# @(#)printcap 5.3 (Berkeley) 6/30/90
lp|ps|local line printer:\
:lp=/dev/lpt0n:sd=/var/spool/lpd:
where /dev/lpt0n looks like:
crw-rw-r-- 1 root wheel 16, 16 Oct 27 01:00 /dev/lpt0n
and then finally have this done in one of the rcs during boot up:
/usr/local/sbin/setdj >/dev/lpt0n
where setdj is a compiled this:
#include <stdio.h>
void main()
{
printf("\x01b\x026\x06b\x033\x047");
}
It works for an 550c anyway. I use gs for the ps stuff.
