neighbor solicitation: 359208
357910 bad neighbor solicitation messages

It is about 99.64% bad NS messages. Looks weird.

> Is there a way to understand why it thinks they're bad?

Yes, there is a sysctl knob 'net.inet6.icmp6.nd6_debug' which is default of=
f.
You can turn it on.
# sysctl net.inet6.icmp6.nd6_debug=3D1

And then monitor the log from kernel:
# tail -F /var/log/messages
