HI: I am having problem running rdist from a Sun sparc running SunOS 4.1.3 to a FreeBSD box. I compiled rdist 6.1.0 on the Sun and on FreeBSd. The latter needed to be compiled as bsdi since there were no FreeBSD options in the config directory I compiled rdist version 6.1.0 using bsdi as my operating system - there was no FreeBSD template in config. The thing compiled OK. When I rdist a file from a Sun, if the file does not exist on FreeBSD it would install it fine. If I try a second time from the Sun, I would get a segmentation violation on the remote machine. The same rdist 6.1.0 works fine on Linux. So there you have it. I would like your help to see if something can be done about this. The FreeBSD machine is running 2.1.0, the SNAP version. Raman Padmanabhan Michigan State University raman@clunix.msu.edu P.S. I sent mail to the rdist bug list but have had no response.
