My machine has both a crummy dual-channel ide controller, with both channels enabled, and an IO board with its IDE controller disabled. The IO board can only handle the standard primary and secondary addresses, and the motherboard controller has a similar limitation. So I have three IDE channels, but due to the inflexibity of all of my controllers, I can only get two IDE channels enabled. Incidentally, I have two hard drives and a CDROM drive.
