Hi, Have a question on whether it is possible to share file descriptors between two processes. The purpose is to have a stanby process take over when the primary process fails. The primary process creates/deletes socket connections at run time. Forking does not scale well when the rate of connection creates/deletes in high. If there is an alternative approach to do this kindly let me know. Any helpful pointers are greatly appreciated. thanks and regards, ramesh ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-fs" in the body of the message
