I've been trying to install several ports on a 3.0-RELEASE system, and am
getting the following errors with some of them:

"Makefile", line 10: Could not find bsd.port.pre.mk
"Makefile", line 12: Malformed conditional (${PORTOBJFORMAT} == "elf")
"Makefile", line 12: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 16: if-less else
"Makefile", line 16: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 21: if-less endif
"Makefile", line 21: Need an operator
"Makefile", line 40: Could not find bsd.port.post.mk
Do I need to upgrade to -current to get the bsd.port.pre & post.mk files?
