I just built and installed a custom kernel for the first time, but it won't boot and I can't boot the old kernel either. I type "boot kernel.old" at the boot loader and it can't find the root partition. It says there's no device ad. What gives? Why can't it find my root partition? I figured I didn't add support for my IDE controller in my kernel config file, but I thought I did. Any ideas?
