I have a box with 2 nics. One for internal = traffic and one for the external. The external nic is connected to a = cable modem which has a dynamically assigned IP (nothing special, = dhclient seems to work fine), and the internal is a static = (192.168.100.XXX). I have the setup working, but it seems that every so = often I have to "reset" the external nic by either A. running dhclient = on the device again (ed0) or B. doing an ifconfig ed0 IP_ADDR. either = one gets be up and running for an unknown amount of time. sometimes it = will be 5 seconds, sometimes days. This is becoming very frustrating. I = have tried natd with the -dynamic flag, and I did upgrade to the latest = stable and the problem still persists. Any help on this is appreciated. = Thanks in advance. ------=_NextPart_000_001D_01C057EF.81D9AAA0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

A weeks ago I installed the newest = release (4.1 I=20 think) and have had some wierd happenings since. I have a box with 2 = nics. One=20 for internal traffic and one for the external. The external nic is = connected to=20 a cable modem which has a dynamically assigned IP (nothing special, = dhclient=20 seems to work fine), and the internal is a static (192.168.100.XXX). I = have the=20 setup working, but it seems that every so often I have to "reset" the = external=20 nic by either A. running dhclient on the device again (ed0) or B. doing = an=20 ifconfig ed0 IP_ADDR. either one gets be up and running for an unknown = amount of=20 time. sometimes it will be 5 seconds, sometimes days. This is becoming = very=20 frustrating. I have tried natd with the -dynamic flag, and I did upgrade = to the=20 latest stable and the problem still persists. Any help on this is = appreciated.=20 Thanks in advance.
