Any ideas? I have a similar problem with my laptop. I can boot 2.2.x CDRoms but no 3.x... So I create the installation floppies and be able to install it. Later on, I used these CDRoms on a desktop and it is able to boot these CDRoms. But I notice that it is booting a 2.88Mb floppy. So MY GUESS is that some laptop are not able to boot a CDRom if the floppy image is anything but a 1.44Mb image. Phil.
