Can you try the 3.0-SNAP boot floppy?  The DE500-aa works and has a
21140-AC chipset...  The 3.0 snapshot is probably stable enough for doing
some real work (although I would wait for the Lite2 merge to quiet down a
bit before getting up-to-the-minute -current.
