Are you at mydomain.com?  As far as I know, this is an unregistered
domain, so you would expect this.

No, I don't think anybody can.  A sendmail.cf file needs some
customization.  You should have a good starting point in the
sendmail.cf included in the distribution, but you will probably need
to change something.  Certainly if you want help you need to describe
your installation.
