I assume you wrote "/dev/cd0" instead of "dev/cd0" and that a cd is indeed inserted. Are you trying to listen to it from speakers of from headphones? Many times= , headphones are badly configured by default and need a little work from user= s. Do you hear sound with headphones detached? Output of "mixer" command could help. Lorenzo Salvadore.
