So Satoshi was (as far as I can see) holding up the X11R6 locale directory as an example of where things don't need to be explicitly spelled out, and now you're saying that the same directory structure is confusing. I think this is the best example yet of exactly why we should move to a more rationalised directory naming scheme -- confusion such as the above becomes impossible.
