https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D280785 Bug ID: 280785 Summary: emulators/virtualbox-ose-kmod Kernel driver not installed (rc=3D-1908) FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p3 Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: vbox@FreeBSD.org Reporter: llaquet@protonmail.com Assignee: vbox@FreeBSD.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(vbox@FreeBSD.org) I'm using packages. On my machine, everything works fine while using FreeBSD 14.0 (the last subversion, p9 I think), but once I upgrade to 14.1, when I try to start an= y VM I get the error "Kernel driver not installed (rc=3D-1908)" on a message win= dow and the virtual machine doesn't start. I tried uninstalling the packages emulators/virtualbox-ose and emulators/virtualbox-ose-kmod and reinstalling them, then restarting my machine, but it doesn't solve the problem. I've noticed that after installing the packages, it says the following: To avoid crashes due to kernel incompatibility, this module will only load on FreeBSD 14.0 kernels. I don't know if that means anything. My /boot/loader.conf, groups and users are configured correctly, according = to the instructions. The fact that everything is working fine on v14.0 I guess that proves that. If executed the command=20 # sysctl -a And the following messages might be relevant: ...skipping... vboxdrv: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX VMMR0.r0 vboxdrv: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX VBoxDDR0.r0 ...skipping.. KLD vboxdrv.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch <118>/etc/rc: WARNING: Can't load vboxdrv module. Thank you very much for your time and work and please forgive me if I'm doi= ng anything wrong or my lack of knowledge is wasting your time. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
