I suppose you missed this change to the tar Makefile and tar.1?

The default tape device should be /dev/rsa0 for CAM.

dump and restore have also been changed.

If you want to test for a CAM system, I'd suggest looking for some of the
files that will only be on a CAM system.  For example:

/usr/include/camlib.h
/sbin/camcontrol
