The LS-120 isn't a tape, it's a floppy and (ZIP-like) cartridge.
It is supported in 2.2.6-RELEASE and better.

There are legimate uses for a boot floppy. You won't get very
fair for general use. But for custom installs and repairs it's
very nice to have. 

And you could probably do a small system on the LS-120. That would
be cool to try.

Yes. It is an X application.
