I won't know when, but I'm going to be giving a talk about FreeBSD to a local Linux group. Included will be a demo install. With luck, that will lead to another seminar where everyone will turn up with a box and be helped through the install. I will not be getting into an us/them debate. Nor will I be giving them reason why FreeBSD is better/bigger/etc. I'll just be tell them what I know. Here are some of the points I'll cover (I've given this very little thought so far). - What is FreeBSD? (history, platforms) - Relationships to other BSDs (OpenBSD, NetBSD, BSD/OS, Mac/OS) - Major differences between Linux and FreeBSD from a Linux user point of view - Installation process (demo will be from CD) -- Dan Langille The FreeBSD Diary - http://freebsddiary.org/ - practical examples To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-advocacy" in the body of the message
