After having used a Compaq Proliant 400 for a few months, I decided to drop $10K on a beefier 800. However, when I try to use the second processor, I run in to trouble. On boot, I get the error message: <normal boot messages through memory checks> panic: assign_apic_irq: inconsistent table mp_lock=00000001; cpuid=0; lapic.id=ffffffff <auto reboot message, press any key to abort...> Also, mptable reports that some table or other as "HOSED" (sorry, haven't got the box back up to get an exact message).... Otherwise, the system is a dual PII/450, 1GB of RAM, twin 9GB LVD drives on dual Adaptect 2940U2W controllers. IDE CD-Rom. OTherwise, just a stock 800 :)_ -Brian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
