I haven't done any benchmarks, as my "major" X apps are XEmacs and gimp/xv. I'm also using 4.0 in 24-bit mode, whereas I used 3.3.5 in 16-bit mode; this can make it difficult to compare. I haven't noticed any real slowdowns, except when exiting KDE: graying out the entire screen takes a couple seconds and is very noticeably slower. Still, I'm quite happy with 4.0. -- Darryl Okahata darrylo@soco.agilent.com DISCLAIMER: this message is the author's personal opinion and does not constitute the support, opinion, or policy of Agilent Technologies, or of the little green men that have been following him all day.
