There aren't parallel instances of a port in this case.

There _are_ parallel instances of netscape. There _are_ parallel
instances of tcl* and tk*, there _are_ parallel instances of XFree86-[34].
See a pattern?

They have no choice, you ripped the underlying port from them.

If you imported the port that is now 'postgresql7' today fresh,
it would have been named 'postgresql'. We shouldn't let the fact
that we have a shitty version control system get in the way of that.

I care about the end product. When we ship FreeBSD, no-one cares
or even can see that there was a postgresql port and all the history,
they see the final product. Our focus should be on what the final
product is; if we can make our own development tools wrap around that,
I'm all for it, but in the end, its only what we ship that matters
to the end user.
