I am trying to install FreeBSD 4.0 RELEASE on an AMD 550 based system with a Linksys LNE100TX NIC. I have read that /dev/pn0 communicates with this hardware device, however when I get to the hardware configuration phase of the installation, that device is not listed. A variaty of other NIC devices are available with their drivers loaded, none of which are installed in the machine. I am attempting an FTP install which will be shortlived unless I can activate the Linksys card. What am I missing? Thanks for any help.
