The DSL modem is a Cisco 675 in bridging Is a 100Mb speed inside (in the RealTek)? Recently I had had some kind of strange problems. I had two FreeBSD boxes(3.5-STABLE each), connected by crossover patchcord at 100Mb. Each box had RealTek-based NIC (SMC1211TX). Second had some more NIC's (RealTek 8029, NE2000 ISA...). When I tried to download big file (about 15Mb) from first to my box throuch second, download had constantly broken at 10Mb and traffic had stopped . This stange bug can be solved by strange way - when I started trafshow (traffic monitor), interface go to promiscuous mode and traffic resumed :-))) Solve for me: replace this bug-field to Intel EhterExpress Pro 100+. Problem disappeared and never has been occured since change. PS: I suggest to read the comments to rl0 driver in file if_rl0.c in kernel source directory. If driver author himself regarded to his "child" so, what can I tell more...:-) -- With Best Regards. Rashid N.
