The following reply was made to PR ports/141473; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Chris Petrik <c.petrik.sosa@gmail.com> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, loox@e-shell.net Cc: Subject: Re: ports/141473: irc/kvirc-devel fails to start, missing library Date: Fri, 18 Dec 2009 21:39:43 -0600 --001636c5b77f68ba1f047b0c9b5c Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 You need to add a entry to the ldconfig files for perl, as ldconfig cant find the lib. /usr/local/libdata/ldconfig/ create a file called perl and add in the dir in which the .so in found /usr/local/lib/perl5/.../libperl.so add the full tree to that file and save it, kvirc4 should work fine after this hack. I believe this is a screw up with perl rather kvirc4 and perl should install that lib to /usr/local/lib/ but it does not.
