I try to install a new dual cpu-server with 3 Seagate 18GB disks on an adaptec 2940U2W controller. The motherboard is an ASUS P2L97-DS. Installing 3.0CAM-19980712-SNAP and building a new kernel went fine :-)). Today I had to power-off the machine and initiated the shutdown-sequence. Wait .. wait ... power off. After a pause of 5 minutes I switched power on, got a whole bunch of startup-messages ... and then SMP: AP CPU #1 Launched! // this is still ok ... panic: ahc0: brkadrint, Data-path Parity Error at seqaddr=0x17d mp_lock = 00000001; cpuid = 0; lapic.id = 01000000 Debugger("panic") Stopped at _Debugger+0x35: movb $0,_in_Debugger,98 I tried all kernels I could get a hand on: - boot.flp / install - kernel.GENERIC / da0 - kernel.CAMSMP / da0 (my own, worked yesterday) No effect. Then I tried the following: - boot dos - fdisk & put a partition on da1 - reboot & format C: - oops, no error !? Any help out there?
